Parent Code of Conduct

As a parent, your involvement plays a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive environment for our young athletes. 

1. I will help make lacrosse fun for my child.
2. I will help my child be on time for team events.
3. I will insist my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
4. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, and officials with respect.
5. I will set a positive example and encourage good sportsmanship at all games. 
6. I understand that positive cheering, clapping, and noise making is encouraged.
7. I will enforce and support the Player Code of Conduct for coaches, parents, and players.
8. I will require that my child’s coaches be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth coach.
9. I will attend parent meetings and be a supportive member of the Shakopee Youth Lacrosse Association.
10. I will refrain from publicly ridiculing or verbally abusing my child, other players, coaches, and officials.
11. I will place the emotional and physical wellbeing of my child and the team ahead of any personal desire to win.
12. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team. 
13. I will demand a drug, alcohol, and tobacco free lacrosse environment for my child and refrain from their use at all association events.

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in lacrosse by following this Code of Conduct.
