Pitch in & pay it forward
Your involvement as a volunteer is essential to the success of our organization. The time, talent, and energy that each family contributes helps offset the cost of playing lacrosse.
For the 2025 lacrosse season, each family is required to fulfill 8 volunteer hours.
Opt-out option
Families who prefer not to volunteer can opt out by paying a fee of $600. Checks are collected from all participants during the annual parents meeting and cashed at the end of the season if the family’s DIBs requirements have not been met.
Team volunteers
Interested in helping with your athlete's team? Volunteer as a parent coach, team manager, or CHILL manager.
River Valley Rumble Volunteers
The majority of our volunteer hours are dedicated to our annual tournament, River Valley Rumble. Your support during this event is crucial to its success.
RVR volunteer hours will open Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.
Volunteer Role Descriptions
It is critical that ALL roles are filled for the full duration of the shift. Be in your position and ready to do the task at the start time. This may require arriving 15–20 minutes in advance to account for arrival, parking, and checking in.
How to sign up for volunteer hours
In order to provide a smoother and more efficient experience for our members, SYLA moved from SportsEngine to Crossbar for website and registration management.This will mean there is a new process for signing up for volunteer hours (formerly called DIBS). While the platform is new for all, the overall approach to volunteer hours is not changing.
Sign into your Crossbar account from https://www.shakopeelacrosse.org.
A common mistake is logging into the Crossbar logo instead of your Shakopee Lacrosse Crossbar account.
Click "Account" in the upper most navigation bar.
Click on the Volunteer Tab from the menu on the left.
You will see the open volunteer spots, Click on More Information at the bottom of the RVR 2025 session.
Find the time you want to sign up for and click on Assign.
Then type in your name or click on the + button.
