Athlete Code of Conduct
In becoming a member of the Shakopee Youth Lacrosse Association community an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the game of lacrosse and its participants.
The essential elements of this “Code of Conduct” are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these values will bring credit to the sport of lacrosse, themselves, their team, and the organization.
It is only through such conduct that our sport can earn and maintain a positive image. The Shakopee Youth Lacrosse Association has adopted this Code of Conduct for all players to read, understand, and abide by.
A commitment to sportsmanship
- I will be on time for team events.
- I will not intentionally injure other players.
- I will remember that lacrosse is a team sport.
- I will practice and play to the best of my ability.
- I will trust my coaches to discuss calls with officials.
- I will treat all individuals and property with respect.
- I will not criticize teammates, coaches, officials, or opponents.
- I will maintain satisfactory schoolwork to remain eligible for play.
- I will wear the Shakopee Youth Lacrosse Association uniform with pride and respect.
- I will conduct myself in a responsible manner, avoiding destructive or delinquent behavior.
- I will not participate in any association function if suspended from school for disciplinary reasons.
- I will abstain from alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other mood-altering drugs, except for prescribed medications used as directed.
